(brown overall tone), dyeing (changing the photo to a certain color), airbrushing (painting select areas of photo) and further experimentation with hand coloring techniques (marker, watercolor, or paint).
Project- Photo Shoot/ Using a roll of at least 24 exposures go out and shoot interesting photos that could be used to highlight each of these techniques.
1. (6 exp.s) Old Fashioned Things (sephia tone)- antiques, farm
equipment, barns, old cars-trucks, textural things that would be enhanced by
sephias warm brown color.
2. (6 exp.s) Overall Color (dyes)-
things, scenes, people that would look good in 1 overall color.
”I’ve got the blues”- old guy playing the blues dyed in blues
”Natural Scene”- Someone working in garden dyed green
3. (6 exp.s) Transitional Color/ Color that blends from one color into another (Airbrush)- Open areas that would lend themselves for good transitions of color; skys, sides of vehicles, just large open areas that you could airbrush in.
4. (6 exp.s) Spots of Color (Hand Color)- photographs that are shot with the idea of adding small amounts of color to photo. Collection of things, old signs, flowers in front of house, Kim Anderson or Anne Gedes influenced photos (kids or babies with spots of color)
