Tessellation as Art (or what can I do with my tessellation?)
Project/problem- You have created this fantastic tessellation,
now you must utilize
it in a creative composition.
Your artwork can be very realistic or you can work more pattern like -abstract.
Required Areas-
Sunglasses with T used as background
Man wearing a tie with T used as background
Use as wallpaper or tile floor or both
Woman's dress with T used as background
Insert tessellation into something else (computer screen, camera,
etc.)
Final Project- Create an advanced piece of artwork that includes both your
tessellation (#4, #5, or?)
and the process of adding the pattern to objects or/and background. A complete
work- interesting complex work of art.
Yes you can utilize other images ( scanned or borrowed from the internet), but
your
pattern/tessellation should be the major emphasize! (To save an image
off of the internet,
find image and right mouse click, find "save image as " and
save to your file, open up Photoshop and begin to manipulate image)
Examples-
| Inserting into found object! I found these sunglasses at Oakley.com and saved to my file. | After opening Photoshop, I used my magic wand and selected
the lenses part of the sunglasses. I then moved that selected area onto my
"Tessellation" (just using the magic wand and left mouse drag). I then
copied this selected area. Returning to my sunglasses I pasted new image onto lens area ( because it came from selected area it fit perfectly). I then added a filter to each lens - Render- lens flare to give 3 -d look! |
Next I selected the background and repeated the steps I did in #2 . On the new background layer I lowered the opacity of this layer from 100% to 75% |

| Using Tessellation in other setting. | After finding room (under interior designs on the internet), I repeated process from above to create floor and wall patterns with the tessellation. |
