The Self Portrait Package
Name___________________________
Project-
create a self portrait package that includes a short video (plus the cover that
holds the DVD or CD), a written document, a web site, a small (11x14”) poster,
a three dimensional object and a clever package that brings the entire project
together. There should a theme (which will include an object or a symbol) used throughout the project and it should be consistent in
each of the different parts. Remember this is a self portrait project,
explaining to the audience who you are (hobbies, beliefs, biography, etc.) and
showcases some of your achievements so far.
Theme-
you should include an overall theme throughout the entire project. Big/new
ideas= light bulb, Inspired by music= music note, etc. This theme will be
displayed in each of the sections of the project and will be the 3-D object or
part of the object.
Written
Document- more than a written page, more like a creatively designed mini
book or a creatively cut illustrative object that includes your writing. Be
sure to utilize your theme.
Web Sites-
Design a short
auto-biographical website that really showcases your talents. Be sure to include
your theme.
Short Video-Create a short video that is like a video portfolio, include
autobiographical information and showcase your talents. This video could be an
actual video or series of stills put to music/sound, or a combination of both.
Be sure to include your theme. We will burn this video to DVD or CD; you should
design the cover for the Video.
Creative Poster-
Utilizing your theme design a poster (11x14”) that announces the project or is
used in correlation with the other parts.
Poster should use your theme.
3-D Object-
The hardest of the parts, is to create a 3- d object
that becomes an actual representation of your theme. This object could be a
found object, but should be altered in a creative way by you or you can create
the object entirely yourself. Example- light bulb- painted and wording added to
simulate the creative light bulb.
The Package- Lastly you must create the
package that will house all of the separate parts of this projects. It should
be more than just a box, more of a foldable display or pop up container. Again
the theme should continue throughout.
Start with a theme or an individual idea and build from there- 7 separate parts = 7 weeks
Your choice of which to work on first, but you should have 3 separate areas
completed by the end of the 3rd quarter. GOOD LUCK and BE CRATIVE!
