SCRATCHBOARD
Scratchboard is a clay coated  board that is covered with india ink.  The ink is scratched away with
a sharp tool to reveal the white surface underneath.   One of the skills of the scratchboard artist lies
in the ability to create multiple shades of gray.  Grays are determined by the amount of white
revealed.  The addition of color adds another layer to the depth of the drawing. Acrylic or inks
workwell to give color.
